Elgin Service Center K-Buildings

Elgin Service Center has been part of the rural construction business for over 35 years. In the beginning, Elgin Service Center provided farmers with on-farm grain storage and handling equipment. As farm machinery grew in size, there evolved a need for new structures large enough to accommodate large equipment. However, Elgin's customers were concerned about the quality and longevity of pole building, and requested that Elgin Service Center explore the possibility of manufacturing an all-steel building with the strength and durability of the commercial all steel building, but with costs similar to those in the pole building industry. Elgin met with challenge with the K-Building: a building system using steel main framing for superior strength and wood purlins and girts to restrain costs. The K-Building has been successfully marketed and sold for over 25 years.
